COACHING – WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Many new coaches worry about when to step back from coaching and refer their client to a therapist or other medical professional. In this module, I will show you what to look for so that you can be more relaxed in your coaching approach. I will also give you a brief history of coaching and help you to see what coaching is, and what it is not.
This is the most theoretical module of the Coaching Skills Diploma, however it is vital that we have a strong foundation before building on your coaching skills.

COACHING vs THERAPY REFLECTION
Now that you have watched the video, take a few minutes to consider the following: (the notes you add are private to you, but if you’d like to share them in the Facebook Group, please feel free to do that.)
In the next module we will be looking at Values which, I believe, is the cornerstone of coaching.
You’ll learn:
- What values are and why they are important
- How to identify when clients are setting goals that are not values aligned
- How to uncover what your clients’ values are, even when they don’t know themselves
And you’ll no longer:
- Feel that it’s your fault that clients are not achieving their goals
Module 2 will be available on 24th June
